On CJLO Sports on Monday, Matthew Coyte and I gave our NHL season predictions. We went division-by-division, predicting who would finish first, second and third, as well as last. We also predicted some (early) awards.
Here’s what we predicted.
Atlantic Division
Matthew: Tampa, Toronto and Boston – Ottawa last
Nicholas: Toronto, Boston and Tampa – Ottawa last
Metropolitan Division
Matthew: Washington, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia – New Jersey last
Nicholas: New Jersey, Pittsburgh and Washington – Islanders last
Central Division
Matthew: Nashville, Winnipeg and St. Louis – Minnesota last
Nicholas: Winnipeg, Nashville and Colorado – Dallas last
Pacific Division
Matthew: San Jose, LA and Vegas – Vancouver last
Nicholas: Vegas, San Jose and Calgary – Vancouver last
Individual awards
Stanley Cup – Matthew: Winnipeg Jets; Nicholas: Tampa Bay Lightning
Hart Trophy – Matthew: Connor McDavid; Nicholas: Nikita Kucherov
Vezina Trophy – Matthew: Anti Raanta; Nicholas: Marc-Andre Fleury
Norris Trophy – Matthew: Victor Hedman; Nicholas: Roman Josi
